Our Centennial Celebration Continues
Dear Friends,
On Sunday, August 28th we officially opened our centennial year at our 9:30am Mass. This was a wonderful moment in the history of our parish. I have been your Pastor since 1994 (22 years), and I have never experienced a liturgy like that morning.
When we started the Mass at 9:30 am, the church was 80% full; I was concerned about the response from our parishioners. By the homily, the church was at standing room only. The music of our combined choirs was extraordinary, and our assembly sang like I have never heard them sing before. Our Church looked beautiful with flowers. After the Mass, we had a lovely reception where parishioners, old and new, could view the Photo Archive. At the same time, I witnessed friends and families visit and reconnect.
The Centennial Year Opening Mass and Reception was built on the foundation of our school, with students involved in all aspects. What a wonderful beginning to our year of celebrating 100 years as a St. Cecilia Family. Please continue to join us as we celebrate.
Sincerely,
Monsignor Michael Harriman
